Dear Friends of Keren Hayesod,
The war continues to rage in Ukraine, leaving thousands of Ukrainian Jews fearing for their lives. Together with our strategic partner, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Government of Israel, we are working to provide critical, lifesaving support for the Ukranian Jewish community.
Whether they are looking to get out of harm’s way under these dire circumstances or are staying behind, we are there for them, and we need your support to further these crucial efforts.
We are working around the clock, maintaining constant contact with representatives on the ground who are providing us with updates in real-time, including testimonies from the local community.
Early this morning, the first of March, we received an update from Udi Lehavi, a Keren Hayesod representative in Germany who is now volunteering on the Ukrainian-Polish border. He reported that after several long, tiresome days he was able to assist a mother and her two daughters who fled Ukraine, along with thousands of other people, walking nearly twenty kilometers to the border with Poland. Once the mother and her daughters arrived, Udi assisted them with filing the necessary paperwork that will allow them to make Aliyah to Israel.
Udi will once again return to the border today to continue assisting those fleeing Ukraine and are looking to make Aliyah to Israel.
This is one of several stories we have received and continue to receive from on the ground in Ukraine in which Keren Hayesod and the Jewish Agency for Israel are at the forefront of these life-saving and emergency efforts to ensure that anyone from the Jewish community can immigrate to Israel or receive the necessary aid.
We cannot adequately provide all the relevant emergency aid alone. We need your continued support.
