Keren Hayesod supports programs that aim to reduce the social divide and provide equal opportunities. Peimot “heartbeats” is one of these programs. It is aimed at future Israeli parents since pregnancy and/or with babies under three years old, who are in a situation of distress and present one or more risk factors, such as single-parent families, unemployed, or more new immigrants from third world countries.

Peimot is aimed at future parents in distress, and parents of babies in underprivileged communities throughout Israel. Designed to prevent the abandonment of the newborn and to improve the well-being of families, the program acts on several levels and increases the chances of future success. Its Hebrew name, “Peimot”, refers to the heartbeats of the baby and the mother and the various stages of development they go through together since pregnancy.
