ADI

Because they need special care

(FORMERLY ALEH)

WHAT is ADI?

ADI is an organization that cares for children in Israel with multiple mental or physical disabilities, regardless of their religious or ethnic background. ADI runs four centers in Israel, where they can offer the affected children living space, care and therapy options.

Why support ADI?

The possibilities of development is often underestimated in disabled children. Thanks to ADI’s long-time commitment, this potential is encouraged. More than 700 affected children, from newborns to adults, are able to receive specialized care at the ADI centers.

In Jerusalem, Gedera, Bnei Brak and in the rehabilitation village in Negev, multidisciplinary teams of doctors, therapists, nurses and teachers are working around the clock to ensure that the needs of these children are met, with support by a group of volunteers. ADI is the largest care network for disabled children in Israel. The work is done with modern technology and the latest therapeutic methods. Although a percentage of the care is paid for by the state, many of the services must be paid for by parents and donors.

Results of this project

In addition to the 700 residential cared-for individuals, ADI administers over 26’000 ambulatory treatments per year. Without ADI, many of the affected children would be forced to spend their lives in hospitals or institutions, without the possibility for rehabilitation, education or the love and warmth of a home. Thanks to ADI, these children are able to live certain parts of their lives much like non-disabled children can: school, learning a profession, sports, leisure time, going on trips and taking care of animals.
