As part of his first trip abroad as the newly elected Executive Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Doron Almog met with representatives of Jewish organizations in Switzerland last Friday. The central role played by the construction of the rehabilitation village ALEH Negev – Nahalat Eran, which is named after his deceased son, is unmistakable. In his new position on the executive branch of JAFI, the retired Major General of the Israeli Defense Forces wants to work for a rapprochement between the population of Israel and the Jewish communities in the diaspora. He wants to achieve this through a lively mutual exchange. With the term “Kiruv Levavot” (approaching the hearts), he made it clear that this approach should not only be practical, but also emotional.
