Housegathering with Shahar Rubinstein
(Kedma Youth Village) in Bern

Report by Kidma Bar from the Chibuk committee

«Wherever we may be in the world, Israel remains our home» 🇮🇱

An evening of «Keren Hajessod» at our home, with the participation of the Israeli ambassador to Switzerland, Mrs. Ifat Reshef, along with the president of Keren Hajessod Switzerland, Claudia Scheiner, the president of Keren Hajessod – Schweiz Bern, Emmanuel Zloczower, VCs and the Keren Hajessod’s emissary, Ofer Kol.

Ofer and I joined forces for the «Peimot» project, an amazing initiative that helps families at risk with children aged 0-3 living in the periphery to receive tools and support in order to become the best parents they can be for their children.

I will soon further elaborate about this incredible project.

During the evening, we had the privilege of hearing a fascinating lecture by Shahar Rubinstein, the director of «Kedma Youth Village» in the south, who supports children at risk.

Helping them pass their matriculation exams, integrate into the army and later in “real life”.

All of this is done to provide them with the necessary tools to improve their lives and the results are amazing! When they succeed, Israeli society as a whole benefits.

The meeting showed us that with the right tools and support, we can turn ‘survivors into leaders’.

I feel immense honor and a strong sense of mission to assist Israel from this neighboring continent.

I am excited to join the team of  Chibuk – the Women Division of Keren Hajessod Switzerland, an amazing team with an honorable mission – to make life in Israel better.

A phrase engraved in my heart is that when you give wholeheartedly, you receive so much more in return.
